![]() A lot of workshop submissions treat the little circular thing on top of the buttstock as a cushion of some sort and I treated this no different. ![]() The back definitly needed something that would contrast with the rust. I fixed some irritating first person issues on the top of the UMP and started on the grip and buttstock. The next day I got back to drawing and finally landed on something that I felt was right. There was something about it that I couldn't quite place so I went to bed to rethink what I was going to do. I agreed with them and so after a good round of feedback decided to remove the extending flames completely and was still left unsatisfied. Keyword here is sorta, after asking for feedback to some friends they weren't quite sure but it just didn't look right. First I tried moving some flames upwards but that felt too crammed, then I moved them a bit lower and was sorta satisfied with the results. I see the default position as the most important view of a gun and therefore decided to alter my flames in such a manner that I wouldn't deal with this issue. Because it is slightly extruded everything that would go over it would look out of shape when viewed in First-Person. The issue I had with the UMP-45 is the geometry revolving around the middle of the main body. After I finished the base coat I started on the flames and that actually took me quite some time to get right. I first only did the main body, the grip and buttstock would come at a later stage because I was not quite sure what I wanted to achieve with those parts yet. I heard from a lot of people that they loved my Deagle so the UMP-45 had to be on the same level.įirst I started with the regular rusted base coat. ![]() I really felt like this skin had to be on the level of it predecessor. The Desert Eagle Oxide Blaze white flame had a big contrast with the rusted main coat but besides that there was not a lot of screaming drawings added. ![]() The first thing I promised myself was not to make the design feel cluttered. Before starting I already knew that a UMP-45 variant would be harder to make than the Desert Eagle due to the UMP-45 having a much bigger framework. ![]()
